Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery

What is Hernia?

A hernia occurs when an internal organ or other body part protrudes through the wall of muscle or tissue that normally contains it. A hernia appears as a bulge of tissue under the skin, often in the belly or groin area. Hernias are caused by a combination of pressure and an opening or weakness of muscle. The pressure pushes an organ or tissue through the opening or weak spot. Lifting heavy objects, constipation, coughing, obesity, etc. could cause hernia.
